Outdoor Adventures (Advanced)
with Owen Coursin
Ages: for students entering 3rd grade to 6th grade
Time: 8:45 - 12:00
Outdoor programming helps kids gain a deeper appreciation for nature and a better understanding of their surroundings. In this one week half day outdoors program students will explore various nearby habitats and the creatures and plants that live in them, all within walking distance from our campus. Activities may include scavenger hunts, bird watching, mushroom hunts, nature inspired games, sensory activities, show and tell, and plant, tree & animal ID walks to name a few. Students will also have the opportunity to express their creativity through story telling, map making, and nature arts & crafts. Activities will be based on the student interests, weather, and the lessons that nature provides. The Montessori School of Northampton lies right on the Norwottuck rail trail and is an easy walk to the river and woods and has it's own expansive green spaces.
