Making a Podcast
with Tom Knight
Dates: June 28-July 2. Ages: 9-14. Schedule: 8:30-3:00 daily
Podcasting is a fun way for young people to tell their stories from their point of view! In this class, students will learn all aspects of podcasting from beginning to end, including scripting, interviewing, hosting, recording, editing and even uploading it to the internet for the world to hear. Students will also be able to choose which genres of podcast to work on - fictional storytelling, interviewing, comedy and more.
Tom Knight is a videographer and filmmaker who loves teaching. Besides making videos for musicians and web sites, Tom is also a puppeteer and songwriter and has been performing regularly at schools, libraries and festivals for over 25 years. To learn more about Tom Knight go to TomKnight.com or view his video “Elephant’s Lullaby” on YouTube. This is his sixth year teaching in the MSN Summer Program.
This summer we will be taking very specific safety precautions to ensure the health of students and staff: requiring all students and staff to wear masks, socially distance and routinely wash hands, keeping each classroom size lower than usual, daily health screenings, and emphasizing outdoor class as much as possible. Outdoor class time will occur under a large tent or on our expansive playground.
